My husbands g-grandfather and family came to Tx in 1880s. His name was Joseph Albert Black born in Ga in 1848. His children were born in Ga. Wife was Ada Francis Sikes nee Bailey a widow. There is a Joseph Black on the Hall Co.,Ga census of 1860 about the right age in the household of an Andrew Black, 24 yrs. Maybe brother or cousin? 1850 census of Forsyth Co., Ga there is a Joseph Black 67yrs, and a James Black 44yrs. Both have a son named Joseph but wrong ages. 1850 in Campbell Co., there is a Joseph Black age 27 with young children. On the death citificate of Joseph Albert Black (1848-1915) he was Joseph Albert Black, jr. Joseph and Ada are buried in Corpus Christi, TX in Nueces Co. The interesting thing about them is that they named their first child a girl Thomas. She was called Tommy.
