Oddly enough I didn't find Nathaniel mentioned specifically in any of the Gwinnett Books that I have in my possession except this one. Vol.. 2, History of Gwinnett Co.1818-1960 By Flannigan pg. 32 Hosea Camp's father, Nathaniel CAMP, was in the Battle of King's Mtn. in the month of Sept., 1780, near the North and South Carolina line. He may have fired the fatal shot that killed General Ferguson, the commander of the British army. Nathaniel CAMP picked up from the battle field a conch shell that was used by Ferguson as a horn....... Rev. Hosea CAMP, who lived in the eastern section of Gwinnett Co., he brought this horn with him and gave it to his son, Hosea CAMP, who carefully preserved it as an important historical relic of the Rev. War. Mr.. W.H. Everett, Nathaniel CAMP's granddaughter, who presented it to the DAR where it can now be seen in the museum. That's it! I don't know if this is your Nathaniel but it's a cool story.
