Janie, Thank you for your reply. I made contact with both Tanner and Chris several years ago. Dr. Samuel H. Freeman left land to "my half sister Sallie Davis,(formerly Sarah Freeman,)". She is listed as Sarah Davis in the Returns at the Gwinnett County Courthouse. Courthouse records list Sarah F. Freeman married J.C. Davis in 1886. I will keep my eye open for any information about the Blount/Blunt family.
