Maffett I visited the Old Courthouse many a time, even helt in my hand a marriage certificate from 1838. It was just in a bundle with others. Have only been to the New Courhouse one time several years ago at that time the old records were not available, I believe they were being micro filmed. Any way I have found the applications of many of my family members from the very early to later. You know even way back there the couple got their marriage license (except for that 1838 one). As for Maffett. A 2nd cousin of my father-in-law connects with the Maffett family (her mother was a Maffett) & although she is not into family research she loves to talk about family & has collected a little bit of info. Who was your Mary's father? There was 2 Mary's even one as Mary O. but marrying 1893 & 1895 to Collins & Patterson.
