My Mary O. Maffett was the daughter of Hamilton Maffett and Mary Robinson. Hamilton's parents were Robert Maffett and Margaret Garmany, originally from Newberry SC. Robert and Margaret had many children, as did Hamilton and Mary. I believe there are Maffett descendants in the Gwinnett and Atlanta areas, also in Athens. The Maffett home was on Peachtree in Gwinnett. There is a photo of it at the Gwinnett Hist. Society. I have seen the marriage record of a Mary O. in the late 1890's. She may be a descendant of Hamilton & Margaret or one of Hamilton's siblings.
