I am trying to find the home site for a David McGuire in Gwinnett Co Census of 1820 and 1830. Any help is appreciated. John McGuire

Does anyone know to whom Robert and Mary MARTIN (listed below) family descend? I am searching for my GGGuncle Robert Levi MARTIN, born c. 1852 in Lumpkin Co., GA; moved to Gwinnett Co., GA in 1857 with his family. I haven't found a marriage record for him yet. My Robert Levi MARTIN's parents are from NC and SC while this census records says GA. Thank you! Johnson on Blue Ridge, at 10 o'clock a.m., Wednesday February 3rd, 1886. John W. Jackson, in the 77th year of his age. His burial took place at the Union Church cemetery. The above notice conveys the sad intelligence that another has been called from his labors here below to the realms above where all is peace and happiness. John Jackson was a citizen of this county many years and took a great interest in everything pertaining to the prosperity of the county. He was born in Gwinett County, Georgia, on the 11th of July, 1809, where he lived until after his marriage with Liddia Clements in the year 1832. It will be remembered that about that time the Seminoles were banished from their country, thereby offering great inducements to the sturdy sons of toll in pushing farther westward in search of a home. Mr. Jackson, then a young man in the full vigor of life and possessing the true spirit of the early pioneers, removed with his wife and three little children to the then beautiful hills and valleys of Alabama, where he lived until the country became more thickly settled. In 1857 he again took up the westward march and settled on Little River, Northern Arkansas,. Here the dark cloud of misfortune came over him --- the death of his wife in June 1858. This cast a gloom over his life from which he never recovered. At the breaking out of the war he came to Texas where he resided ever since. He was blessed with twelve children, six sons and six daughters, two of whom now live in our midst. He became a member of the Methodist-Episcopal Church at an early age and lived and died a Christian. He was the father of Jerry Jackson, well known in Marlin. He is gode to the land of sweet rest; Gone where the flowers bloom. Gone to the home of the blest; Gone beyond the tomb. He's gone to the land where angels sing Gone to the Heavenly shore; Gone to meet the Heavenly King; Gone to weep no more. W.H. LAID TO REST Mournfully and sadly we laid him to rest In his narrow bed of clay. With his dear old hands clasped on his breast So like a child he lay. The sweetest smile o'er his features played. Oh, can we call it Death? That takes from us the earthly form To imbue with heavenly breath. Yes, 'tis death, the death we fear. But 'tis only going before; We soon will follow in his steps, To walk the heavenly shore. Our looks like his will soon be gray, Our steps like his be slow; And when death comes, God grant may we Be prepared like him to go. He smiled when he knew the end was near. May 16,1838: Hamilton's Company in the removal of the Cherokees: Private Hardiman HUGHES is listed on page 145 in History of Gwinnett County Georgia, vol. 1. Cherokee Land Lottery: Same book listed above, page 153 lists John HUGHS, Sr. (no "e") in residing in Third District, drew Lot #653 in the Cherokee Land Draw in the 1830s.(Note: I just recently read where the land draw was not done in 1838 but in 1832; the land wasn't ready until 1838 as the Cherokees were removed by then. I believe this to be correct as the Indian Wars 1834-1838 and the Cherokee Removal of 1838 certainly would suggest this.) History of Gwinnett County Georgia 1818-1860 Volume 2, pages 445-497, lists descendants of Phillip HUGHES starting with William E. HUGHES, b. 1809 d.1856. Do not find any HUGHES family members born before 1840 listed as buried in Gwinnett County, GA Deaths 1818-1989 nor in *Barrow County Georgia Cemeteries. My Hughes family was in Gwinnett County about 1830. Believe they are on the 1830 census but not after that. They moved on to Alabama. Is there anyone who has any Hughes information for the perior around 1830? Does anyone have an archive book or any type book that they are mentioned in? JERRY MADISON ROWE and SARAH JANE BARNETT: I know the following: JERRY MADISON ROWE was born Nov. 26, 1865 and he died Dec 1, 1940, he is buried at Mt. Carmel Methodist Church in Norcross, Ga.; I have found in the Milton County marriage records where J.M.G ROWE married SARAH BARNETT in 1884. I also have Census (1900, 1920, and 1930). His name keeps changing but his wife and children are the same. He has his mother in law (ELVIRA BARNETT) living in his household, also and Aunt (MALLIE CARNES) on the 1920 census. He is living with his daughter (LISSIE TAYLOR, she is married to ELMER E. TAYLOR, family records state his name as ERNEST E. TAYLOR), on the 1930 census. I know his mother (MARGARET J. ROWE) is also buried at Mt. Carmel Methodist Church in Norcross, Ga. born January 05, 1834 died October 14, 1914; I have not been able to find his father. SARAH JANE BARNETT was born July 19, 1860, died Aug 2, 1924, buried at Mt. Carmel Methodist Church in Norcross, Ga. I know her mother was ELVIRA BARNETT born November 11, 1830, died July 08, 1929. buried at Mt. Carmel Methodist Church. I have not been able to find her father.
