Oops! I decided to resend this query with a different subject line, in case some people overlooked because they were not researching the surnames mentioned. So here it is again: If anyone on this list has access to marriage records for the county for the late 1800's, could you please check to see if there is a marriage listed between Peter Smith and Ella Campbell? They were married sometime around 1897, but I am not sure if it was in Gwinnett or Hall County. I have already checked in Jackson County because I thought that was where they were living at the time. I know that they later lived in Lawrenceville where Peter Smith was a shoemaker. Thanks for any help that anyone can give me. Regina

He married ELIZABETH LUCY SUGGS of GA. They had 6 children. Richard is buried in White Wright Cemetery in White Wright, Fannin Co, TX along with part of his family. It shows him to be listed as Co. B 56th AL Partisan Rangers. He filed for his pension in Fannin Co. TX. I am trying to find when he enlisted as a scout, also where he was living. He and someof his children were listed in the 1880 Talladega Co. AL census. His first son listed in a 1910 Talladega CO. AL census shows ? Dump ? TAYLOR is listed in Talladega Co. AL Silver Run with 3 children and wife, Beckey TAYLOR, son ROBERT TAYLOR as 13, daughter Synthia (CYNTHIA )TAYLOR as 10 , and son JOHN TAYLOR as 8 years old. We do not know this first child or his family, we know all the other children and all their families. My grandfather had some of his children here too! No one claims to be kin to our Taylor family. My grandfather was WILLIAM THOMAS TAYLOR SR. HE ! was born 1870 in Jefferson Co AL in 1870. He married GEORGIA ADA WILLIAMS. They had several children in AL and then moved to Fannin Co TX. William Thomas Taylor married 3 more times in TX and had a total of 12 children. If you have any information on this family I would love to hear from you. I am told Richard Thomas TAYLOR's father was JOSHUA TAYLOR of GA. I am told we are not kin to the president. Also we came from ANDREW TAYLOR, kin to the ELIZABETH RIVER's TAYLOR's of NORFOLK VA. Not yet confirmed.
Rebecca, The Gwinnett County Historical Society has its cemetery database online for members only. It might be worth becoming a member just to take a peak. I'm sure you've already checked out the cemeteries posted at the GAGenWeb Archives? You'll find links to both at http://www.oldplaces.org/gwinnettga/cemeteries/cemeteries.html I'll be working on getting new cemetery transcriptions on the Gwinnett GAGebWeb site as time and weather permit. I'm going to start with some of the smaller cemeteries in the Lilburn-Snellville area, and I've LOVE to have some help with cemeteries in other parts of Gwinnett (hint, hint). ;-) Partial cemetery transcriptions are very welcome! Rebecca, There is an excellent book called "Gwinnett County Deaths, 1818-1989" published by the Gwinnett County Historical Society. It is not a cemetery book, but a "deaths" book and was compiled from cemetery records, funeral home records, newspaper obituaries and other sources. Much more complete than a cemetery book. It is available through the GCHS. An order form is available online on the Web site: http://www.gwinnetths.org/ Hope this helps ... Judy In Newnan, GA
