Judy, I have the Gwinnett Co. books & census ,etc. If you need me to check anything on your Swafford's. Did any of yours connect to Bailey name? Annette MY Websites: Including Our Genealogy! http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Acres/3897/enter.html
> I will be happy to look for any "body." Send me your look-up requests. > This is FREE service. > I look for PITTARDS anywhere, but of the counties you listed, probably Gwinnett is the only one who has them. Some are in DeKalb, as well. Are you doing the cemeteries not listed in the Gwinnett Cemetery book? That would be a lot of help to us who live so far away. There was a SHEPPARD family cemetery in DeKalb Co. that I managed to dodge poison ivy when I was there 23 years ago. THe family assured me that it had been cleaned up and a fence around it, now, and I'm glad to hear that. Were you able to find the GRIZZLE married to the PITTARD that I wrote you about? Thanks for your help. Anne [email protected] http://www.geocities.com/BourbonStreet/3387

If you don't mind looking up the census heads of the households are: William Swafford b SC and Tarsy...years 1840, 1850 and 1860 and 1870. If that is too many then 1840 and 1870...Gwinnett Co. I am afraid that the co. may be Bibb for 1840 and 1850. One more if you don't mind: His name was Silas Acey, but he had been found as Acy, Acey and ?? Swafford would you happen to have access to the 1900 Gwinnett Co, Census? Any help whether big or small, is better than none at all. Thanks so much, Judy
Hi everyone, My Swafford Family came from Gwinnett Co, GA. Names I have : William Swafford = ggg grandfather Silas Acey Swafford = gg grandfather William Young Swafford = great grandfather Any info. would be appreciated. I have the names of Silas Acey's and William Young's siblings. Thanks so much, Judy
Rachel: I have been reading your messages with "glee", but until this one I did not see the WARD part! I have been looking for information on my g.g.g.grandma, Vilatta (Viley) WARD! Sure hope we are related (I love your sense of humor)! Vilatta or Violetta married James BOGGS 1806. She was born 1795, and lived possibly around Jackson or Madison counties. The only info I actually have on her is her name and birthdate. I am Tuscarora Indian on my WADE and SNOW sides, probably others, too. Then on my mom's side, some Cherokee or Choctaw. Rachel, I had the same thing happen in a way. Was emailing someone and gave her info. that I didn't want made public and she posted it for all to see. She was a good sport and removed it. Thanks again, Judy
Leigh, The Piedmont Gen Society (Barrow County and its parent counties) is working on a cemetery book of Barrow county cemeteries. My cousin by marriage, many times removed, Marge Wages of Auburn, is heading up the effort to get the book to print. On Monday she sent me a packet of Barrow Memorial Gardens to input to the computer. Since I read the Gwinnett list I am now familiar with the name GRIZZLE. I have run across a few of them as I type, do you want the info? I work WAGES and BLOUNT from Gwinnett. In fact I collect all Wages. I also collect all GA DOBBS so if you run across any of those names as you walk the stones, please let me know. Janie in Houston TX

Hi Rachel, I'm with you, I love FTM. How were you able to contact the person that put in wrong info???? That has happened with my Rev. ancestor John CHAPMAN. It's startling to look & find yourself & not have any idea who has put you there. I checked via one of their phone numbers & was told the contributor preferred to remain anonymous. My main concern was that the info on the Rev. man had been taken from about 3 books, combining 2-3 men. I worked hard to get proof of the correct John & I don't mind sharing, but I would just suggest that everything has to be proven. Rachal, So you are saying?? Not to go by what someone has in the Family Tree Maker? I guess you read my second one..it is in NC. Got the Swafford and Lewis name confused. LOL Thanks for the tip, Judy
Hi Judy: I just caught the tail-end of your message. I read the words: Family Tree Maker. Just to pass along a bit of info, a researcher listed many of my ancestors incorrectly there. I am trying to untangle the mess now. I got tickled when I saw your message about "meat camp." Does it have anything to do with old-fashioned campmeeting? Mornin' Annette Thanks for the info. Yes, Hamilton remarried after Mary died. He marrie Sara Ivey. I would be happy to share Maffett info with anyone who is looking for it. There is a book on microfilm (3 reels full) at the State of GA Archives called the Moffett Clan. It has more Maffett/Moffett info than anyone needs to know, but is not indexed so very difficult to find precisely what you are looking for.
