Hi all, I am researching Elizabeth MALONEY, who lived in Gwinnett Co, GA, b.1808, d.1858, m. John CARROLL. The town of Maloney Springs in Gwinnett Co., GA, is said to have been named for her family. Who were her parents?
I have information on Polly Connally. She was married to Wilson Strickland. I have this because Wilson was my gggggruncle. And I have the family information on the lawsuit over the property that he owned in what was then Arkansas but is now Texas. And the property ended up going to someone else while Wilson was out of the state. At the time that he had it it was worthless, nothing could be farmed. Only to find out later that it was rich in oil, and it ended up being Humble Oil, which is now Standard Oil. It makes for some interesting info. Let me know what I can do for you. Judy, Bailey - Swafford connection was on my uncles (married dad's sister) line. I believe the connection there (from my memory) was that of John Bailey marrying Nancy Swafford.. One of their sons had a daughter named Fanny Josephine 'Josey' Bailey, born ca 1885 who was the third wife of an older man, Jesse Younger Martin (of Hall Co). They were the parents of my uncle Ernest Martin, who lived in Buford. Josey died in 1919. I always like to try to round out family trees of those who marry into my main lines, when I can. Nancy (Swafford) Bailey could be the same as the Nancy in your lines? Swafford lived near the Bailey's. When in Gwinnett co I got a copy of a marrage record for Robert F. Jarrel and Miss Mattie Collins 27th day of Aug 1880. Does anyone know who either one of these people are. I have been looking for a Martha caroline Collins and a Jarrell Marrage. Mattie is nickname for Martha but I cannot prove this is my family. If you have any information on either one of these families please let me know. Thank you. Maxine
I have been looking for a Bob Jarrell or Jarrells. He married Martha Caroline collins. {or did he} Anyway there was a child born Oct 1882. Arthur Roscoe Jarrells In I believe Gwinnette Co as Martha was from there before moveing to Alabama. I believe Collins Hill Rd in Gwinnett may have been name for the Collins family that lived along it. There is a Collins Hill church and an old Taylor, Collins graveyard back in some woods where the old church was. Martha a year later m a William Birdsong in Gwinnett Co. Who was this Bob. Only found in a family Bible and storys of him passed around. This Bob is my husbands GGfather. Would like to find any Jarrell line in Gwinett or Dekalb Co. I have worked on this for years and not a clue to what line he came from. Will appreciate any help. Maxine
