    2. Regarding: John McDade Rose Have you ever been in contact with Frances Cartwright out in Texas? She connects to John McDade through his daughter Lucinda. It has been several years since I had contact & Frances was an elderly lady. In 1830 census John was residing next door to his daugher Lucinda (McDade) Sexton. And in 1840 census John McDade (pensioner) was living in the household of Lucinda. The families resided in the Hog Mountain area. You may never find out exactly where John is buried, but I would suppose it would have been in one of the cemeteries where some of the relatives are like Prospect Methodist. Maybe you can find old membership rolls or church records & find Lucinda or one of his other children or even John listed. I find a John McDade listed as having a letter at Lawrenceville PO on list of July 1, 1840 I find mention of a James McDade Nov. 1827 obtainig letters of guardianship for John Dunlap & gave as security Catharine Dunlap. Since John was a Rev. Sol. granted a pension as Virginia militiamen do you have his papers? Some where I have Frances Cartwrights ancestor chart & her last home address if you are already not familiar with her. I did check Jackson Co., my records on Barrow (former areas of Gwinnett) & what I had for Forsyth Co., but I really think John was probably buried in Gwinnett....but might want to check right across in Hall Co also, but still think most of the families buried although unmarked at Prospect Meth. , some are at Bethabra & Rocky Springs & other cem's I'll keep looking....Good luck? 2. Annette and all Gwinnetians Have I asked you to help me with some of my Gwinnett family members? There are two Gwinnett mysteries I am unable to solve. My quest is to find information on our family members from GW...I have been unable to locate a burial site for JOHN McDADE although it is written that he died in 1848 in Gwinnett at the ripe old age of 100 years. His grandson, DAVID W. McDADE married MARY ORRIGAN MAFFETT, also of Lawrenceville, around 1868. I cannot find any record of their marriage, however. Mary was the daughter of John Maffett and Margaret Garmany. Do you think someone who died in Gwinnett would have possibly been buried in an outlying county? I checked with DeKalb. What do you think would be the most logical counties to investigate? Thank you, thank you, thank you, for all of your help. Rose

    3. The surname Rolader is my family that I am doing research on along with my Power families. Fortunately, all Rolader families are related. My Mom was a Rolader and my dad was a Power. I host a Power-Rolader family reunion every year at Sweetwater Creek State Park in Lithia Springs, Ga. Could you tell where this cemetery is, also what county, and if you have the names of the Roladers buried there, would you please give me that also Thank you so very much. Carolyn P. Flowers in Ga. The whole group was very fertle people and many, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was my husbands gfather and now we have ggchildren so the line goes on. I got started in this because of the mystery of this Bob, being sure I could find him, but I have no clue as to who he was or if he was. The story went that her brothers found he had a family already and ran him off, if true, On all of Arthur records no father was listed. I talked with Social Security and they say none was listed. the census for him shows no place his father was from. I have not found his death records. I cannot find the funeral home that buried him altho he died in 1950 or 51. Record not in front of me. Thanks for looking. Maxine

    3. Glenda, if you are kin to Eli Landers, you are kin to me, too. His grandparents were Tyree Landers and Frances Davis. I am a descendant of Ann Davis Pittard, Frances'sister. Their father was Humphrey Davis, whose will was settled in 1790, Wake Co. NC. Their sister Rebecca married Ethel Tucker, son of "ol Dan Tucker" who "washed his face in a frying pan" in the old ditty. I just ordered the second of the two books of letters from Eli to his Mother during the war. I guess the first one is out of print, since it wasn't on Gwin. Co. Hist. Soc. website. Is there anyway I can find a record of a child being born on that date to Martha. There is a record in a Bible calling the father Bob Gerald, or Jarrell but I am starting to think there may have not been a Bob. I have worked on this for years and find no answer. Marths lived in Gwinnett Co child of William R. Collins and Elizabeth Taylor. William was killed and later they were listed in the Hay family with both her children and his listed as Hays. Any help or suggestions appreciated. Maxine

    3. Annette: I came, I'm transcribing, I stayed. For now anyway. I put Ozora on-line. All the folks buried there are known to me or my family. Most are related. My aunt was Myrtie MelVinney Wood Moon. She is buried very close to son Robert. Thankfully, in a marked grave. Someone had the bright idea to bury the husband next to her. I attended many funerals at Ozora. His was one of them. Robert Herschell Moon was his name. Buried there are surnames: WARD GRIZZLE MOON WOOD MOORE MULLINAX JACKSON KILGORE KILGROE WILLIAMS HARVEY BERRY ROSEBERRY ENGLAND BULLOCK BULLOGH BOSS REYNOLDS HOGAN ROLADER WINSLETT LUNSFORD POWELL {Wm. Charlie Powell} [G] AMBREL WHEELIS FULCHER BLASINGAME KIDD RUTLEDGE BROWN YANCEY FILEDS WALKER FOWLER HELMS THOMAS STONE JONES BUTLER NORRIS ROBERTSON DAVIS POPE CLACK GUTHRIE ANGLIN {note: Anglin & England were the same in some families, long ago.} DOBBS FELTON MIDDLEBROOKS SAFRAN ATHA STILL http://www.angelfire.com/va/dullesgirl/index.html I have just completed 5,000 transcriptions. The cemeteries I walked are in Counties:Gwinnett, Rockdale Henry.. They will be on-line in a few days. Regards to my cousins. Leigh, Poor Myrtle isn't listed although young Robert is at Ozora Baptist. She's probably there too isn't she in an unmarked grave. What happened to her old man? Last I heard from you girl you were coming down here to walk the stones.... 2. Maxine, With Arthur Roscoe Jarrells being born in 1882 did he live long enough to be on the files with a death certificate? Possibly someone knew & listed a father? Did Martha marry 1883 to Wm. Birdsong? There just isn't any Jarrell's in this area. Only find two in the Death book. Unless Martha had went the legal route to get the father to recognize his son as his, don't see any course but to note info from Bible & leave it at that. Happened back then as it does now a days. Saw William & Elizabeth's marriage in 1858 & saw them in the census in 1860. Where are they in 1870? Have you check 1880 census to see if any Jarrell's in area? Cross those two l's & you'd have Jarrett that name would be easier. Just a little humor. 3. Hey Karen: Don't fell bad! I just got an email from "Carol Lane" who offered to find all my ancestors for $125. I emailed her right back with a "no, thank you." I also stated that the folks I am associated with, do this because they love it. I included my motto: SHARE YOUR ANCESTORS. DON'T SELL THEM. She said she'd heard I needed help finding someone. Anyway, Who are you looking for? We do this for free {except for those folks who publish books. I should be so lucky.}. And ANNETTE: I will look for one of your missing if you'll call on one of my relatives. Her name was Myrtie Moon. She was killed November 1933 on Ga Hwy 20. Her moonshine drinking spouse was at the wheel playing "chicken" with another guy. Myrtie was 5 months pregnant with her 6th. child. Her eldest son Robert, died of pneumonia while caring for the 4 babies his mother left behind. Sorry, I like to talk too much. Would you see if Myrtie is in the Gwinnett death book? They were traveling from Lawrenceville to Grayson {home} when the accident happened. Why haven't I heard from you in awhile Annette?
