Janie, Thank you for your reply. I made contact with both Tanner and Chris several years ago. Dr. Samuel H. Freeman left land to "my half sister Sallie Davis,(formerly Sarah Freeman,)". She is listed as Sarah Davis in the Returns at the Gwinnett County Courthouse. Courthouse records list Sarah F. Freeman married J.C. Davis in 1886. I will keep my eye open for any information about the Blount/Blunt family. Pat, Although I'm not researching the William Freeman family, I am interested in his second marriage to Elizabeth Argent Blount. I am trying to prove that she is the daughter of Jane & probably Isaac Blount/Blunt and the sister to my Philo Wylmer Blount. Jane and Philo are living with the William Freeman family in the 1860 census and if I remember correctly Sarah Freeman married a Sexton, son of John M Sexton and Mary Blount. Several years ago I was in touch with Tanner Freeman of Orange Grove TX, who descended from the second marriage. I can make a few suggestions: Your granddaddy should be in the 1900 Census of GA. Check it and get the name of his parents. Look for the son and get a death certificate. Look in the Social Security records for the son. a) take his birth date and trace him that way. Good Luck! Dear Group, I am in search of a guy (my g-grandfather) that was born in Atlanta Georgia in 1892 or 1893. I have different family documents where his name is listed differently each time. Does anybody have any info on: JAMES BROWN DODD JAMES MORTIMER DODD JOHN BROWN DODD JOHN MORTIMER DODD He moved to PA had 2 children to Bertha Jane Watt Welk, They were Dorothy and Robert brown Dodd and then he disappeared. I am also searching for Sextons but I don't know where mine came from other than from Pontotoc Mississippi which is where my paternal grandmother was born, she was Lillie Lowrey Webb and her mother was Martha Sexton Lowrey, she was born in 1870 and died in 1962 in Robinsonville, Mississippi and is buried in Eudora Miss. All I know is that they came to Robinsonville with some big cotton sharecroppers but that is all I know. Other than some of the Sextons use to reside in Sardis Lake, Miss.where they use to have a big family reunion every year, I only went to one in 1977.So if any of this is familiar please let me know.
