While the Heard family is being discussed here, I'd like to add my Heard ancestors to the mix! I am descended from Amelia "Milly" Heard b. ca 1774 Pittsylvania Co., VA - probably daughter of William Heard & Mary; first married Francis Patterson, b.ca 1772 d. ca 1805 Greene Co., GA. They had 7 children; Amelia second married William Jones Sr. 5 Jan 1808 in Greene Co., GA. Wm Jones Sr had 7 children from his first marriage to Mary Ham and together they had 7 more. This family removed to Jasper Co., GA. I have information on most of their combined 21 children. I have not connected Amelia "Milly" Heard Patterson Jones to the other Heards in Greene County during that time period but would love to make a connection. Any information appreciated and I'm glad to share what I have.
