After the Revolution they moved to Georgia. Ann Alston's parents were Solomon Alston and Ann (Nancy) Hinton. They lived in Warren County, NC. Solomon Alston and Jesse Hunter were both planters. Ruth Hunter was born September 24, 1764, and died 1826. She married William Greene on June 17, 1784. William was born August 3, 1764 and died December 3, 1819. Will was probated January 3, 1820. William was Captain of a military company in Georgia. No mention of any relation to Nathanael Greene. Earlier in the book, it is worth mentioning, it is noted that John Alston's wife was General Francis Marion's sister. Since the author mentions this important historical connection and many others in the Alston family, I find it curious that he would not mention a connection to General Nathanael Greene. This was a very well connected family, and the author of the book mentions that this family connected by marriage to many important American families including - Jefferson Davis, President James Polk, and several others, but again not mention to a family tie to Nathanael Greene. This book is fascinating, and if you have an Ancestry. com membership, you can read it online.
