My g-g-grandfather James Hammett m. Elizabeth Brooker in GA sometime before 1817. My g-grandfather John Robert Hammett was b. in Wilkes Co. GA in 1817. I find James on the 1850 census in IND Co AR near John Robert & his family, James and 3 females - Mary - age 26, Sitha Matilda age 15 and Elizabeth age 18. Its not clear if Mary is his spouse or child. His first wife, Elizabeth died before 1844, I assume in Alabama. i have not found any other children anywhere. John Robert and his wife, Mary HAMMETT daughter of another James Hammett, had a daughter Savannah.
