To Doc Jones. There is a will for a Henry Baldwin in Greene Co. that mentions a daughter "Rebeker." I can't determine if this is your Rebecca but certainly a possibility. From Greene County, Georgia Wills 1786-1877, by Fred Reid Turner: (Greene Co. Will Book F, p. 77) State of Georgia, Greene County. 30 April 1823, will of Henry Baldwin, deceased. I give to my beloved wife, Elizabeth Baldwin, negroes a woman named Jude, Nancy, Sebern, a girl child named Nervy, and land whereon I live, plus household and kitchen furniture, livestock, during her lifetime or widowhood. Should she marry, property held by her shall return to my estate to be equally divided between surviving children: daughter Lucy Read; daughter Amealey Wade, son Joseph Hart; daughter Susan Peek; DAUGHTER REBEKER; and Harriet. My negroes to be hired out until my son Joseph Baldwin becomes of age and then all of them sold and proceeds equally divided. Appoint wife Elizabeth Baldwin, along with Robert Pennix (?) executors. Wit: Daingerfield Bowden, David Crawford. Recorded 24 October 1825. Ebenezer Torrence Clerk. I'm thinking this Henry Baldwin is related somehow to Samuel and Robert Baldwin who were both born in Prince Edward Co., VA, basically because of Robert Pennix being appointed as one of the execs. and a daughter marrying a Peek. The Peek and Penick families were involved with the Baldwins back in Pr. Edward Co., VA. I do have some further Baldwin info. somewhere in my mess of files. I'll try to find it and see if there is anything there to help. Hope this will at least give you a clue or two. Sincerely, Rhoda Taylor Fone
