Hi Mary. I did find that power of attorney you mentioned. So far I haven't tied your Benjamin into the other Baldwin family but that's not to say he's not related. Here's that power of attorney as abstracted by Rev. Silas Emmett Lucas, Jr. in his book "Some Georgia County Records, Vol. 2. This seems to show that Sarah, wife of Benjamin Baldwin, was indeed daughter of James Guardian. (Greene Co., GA Deed Bk. 1, pp. 65-66) BENJN. BALDWIN & SARAH BALDWIN to Nat. Barksdale of Halifax Co., Va., power of attorney to transact business in that county, particularly to make a conveyance of a certain tract of land which was the property of JAMES GUARDIAN DECD and willed by him TO SARAH HIS DAUGHTER as appears on the records of Charlotte Court, the rights and titles of which land being invested in us.
