You probably have this information. Have you tried searching both counties?I did find a William Green in the 1850 census for Greenville,SC.,but,his wife's name was Nancy. I sure know what it is like to run into those darn brick walls!! It took me over 4 years to break through one of mine. If Wm. got married in 1841,and assuming this was his first marriage,he would probably be around 20 years of age. The age of the one in Greenville was 25 years old. Wm. would not show up in the early censuses unless he was the head of the household,and,that rules out the 1830 census. Another suggestion would be to see if he served in the Civil War. Glenna, Thanks so much for the look. This man has been impossible. His name is in the marriage notification as being from Hamburg, SC and his name is on her tombstone and that is the only record that I have of him. Perhaps space alien! I have not tried the Civil War records due to not finding him in any census but I guess I should give that a try. Have a feeling he died before then but who knows.
