One Elisha Sparks Hunter was an active member and deacon in Bethesda Baptist Church. "Bethesda 16th Octr. 1852....On motion of the church agreed at our next conference to elect a Deacon to fillll the vacancy occasioned by the death of Bro E S Hunter."
