This is the kind of thing we can all use! In reading this, I believe that this Samuel Reid with son Andrew is other than the Samuel Reid who was born in Lancaster, Pa, moved to Abbeville, SC, then to Gwinnette Co. GA, and finally to St. Clair Co. AL. He, too, had a son named Andrew (I have been told), but did not mention in his will, probably because Andrew may have been deceased by that time. I believe that both the Samuel you told me about and the Samuel of St. Clair Co. AL had fathers (different) named George. I wish the family had been more creative when it came to naming their progeny. I have seen your name on the Reid Family site. Kaye Van Fleet seems to think that my Eli belongs with the Samuel and Andrew who lived in Putnam Co. GA. I am not wholly convinced of that as yet. The reason being that some of the individuals they seemed to travel with were there. I need to find some record of THIS Andrew and Samuel relationship. There was an Andrew, Jr. who lived in Marion Co. AL at the same time as my Eli. I have not identified him yet. Thanks so much for your help. Gloria Reid.
