I've had a change of address since my original query on Augustus. Unfortunately, the will you mentioned doesn't seem to be at the Haralson Co. site any more. I know there have been some changes with the GenWeb, so maybe it will be there again eventually. I may already have a copy of the will, though. I had come across this Backus family awhile back, but wasn't sure if it was absolutely the connection for my Augustus Backus. But you say that James married a Lucinda who would have been Augustus' stepmother and Augustus did name one of his daughters Lucinda, so it sounds like this could very well be his family. Do you have any idea why Augustus was cut out of his father's will? I'm definitely interested in any information you have on this family. Thanks so much. Darleen
