Hi, I have this on Augustine GREENE (1797-1852) and it was from someone else. We know who the Elizabeth DANIEL was that married William Alston GREENE (1821-1905). She was the gd/o James DANIEL II and Elizabeth CUNNINGHAM of Oglethorpe County, GA by his son, David DANIEL, according to researchers for this family. I do not know who the parents of Richard J. HARRIS were but I would take a close look at the Walton HARRIS bunch and his father, Nathan HARRIS of Greenville County, VA if I were you. I have most of the information on Augustus's parents and most of his kids because of their links back into the FITZPATRICKS. Another reason I monitor this family is because of the HUNTER connection because both these HUNTERS and FITZPATRICKS roll into my RICHTER family of Madison, GA. A DANIEL family also rolls into this same family in Madison and we know which DANIEL family they were related to -- the descendants of Capt. James DANIELL and Jane HICKS of Albemarle County, VA. We do not yet have DNA for the Cunningham-Daniel bunch of PE County, VA so I do not know how they connect. They may be one overall DANIEL family or several that intermarried. That, we do not know, yet. I think this, at least my DANIEL family, had major connections to Brunswick County, VA and this is where the HICKS link comes into James DANIEL. Also, your LINER connection is probably LANIER because these folks were all over this bunch and they all seem to roll out of Surry into Brunswick and, later, into Greeneville County, VA. Page 96B of the 1850 Greene County, GA census should tell you where Augustus GREENE lived. I am sorry I did not keep the email address of this person who sent me this information but I did not. <<< I am a direct descendant of William Greene and Ruth Hunter through their son Augustine. Augustine's son William Alston married an Elizabeth Daniel who was born in Wilkes County Georgia. William Alston and Elizabeth migrated to Oak Bowery, Alabama (which is now near Opelika). They had a large family and their house still stands. I hope this helps someone on the thread. I am still trying to find proof as to how our Greene family of Georgia is related to the Rhoda Island Greenes. I enjoyed reading the thread that told how the relationship is through a Benjamin Greene. Does anyone have any more information on this relationship? I did not see the original information on Richard J Harris-But I show one Richard Jones Harris born a 1820-29 d 19 Apr 1864 Civil War Dalton Ga- lived Greene Co. Ga. I don't show his wife- I show his parents as Henry Harris born 2 Dec 1807 and Martha A Jones born 14 Jan 1872. I have more on all lines-goes back to my Warren, Wilkins (And Nathan Harris & Catherine Walton) Notes on Richard: He died of dysentery. Pvt 66 Reg. 9 Aug 1833 another birth date. 1850 Census Greene Co. Ga. Line of Donalyn Harris Vaughn DoniMom3@aol.com Dec. 2000 query on Greene Co. dvaughn085@yahoo.com Dec 2003 I too am descended from William and Ruth Hunter Greene by their son Augustine - his daughter Sara Elizabeth was my g-great grandmother. Several members of the family have been trying to confirm that William's father was Capt. William Greene Sr, a first cousin to Nathaniel Greene for at least 100 years now. I have bits and pieces of a genealogy that was started in the early 1900s, including one photocopied page of Sara Greene Harris's Bible - written in her hand. Unfortunately the page I have from the family Bible only lists deaths in January 1854 of Ann Elizabeth Harris, Charles William Harris, Mary Greene Harris; and the death of her husband Richard J. Harris on the 19 April, 1864. Sara and Richard Harris's son, Augustine Greene Harris "Gus" was my great-grandfather. I know Greene County was founded primarily by people from North Carolina - which is where William and Ruth (Ruthie in all our family records) were from. Whether we are connected to Nathaniel Greene is a mystery. I have photos of Augustine Greene Harris, and my brother and I both very much look like him List 7 children-including Augustus Greene. Do you have the wife? Gerry ----- Original Message ----- From: "John R.
