    3. Hi, I wonder if your John WHATLEY is related to Col. Abner WHATLEY (1791-1844) of Edgefield County, SC. He married a WILSON girl. Abner was the son of Edmund WHATLEY and Phyllis MARCUS of the same. The WRIGHTS were from New Castle, DE and are tied to the George BUSH and Elander SAPP family of Barnwell County, SC. The BUSHES were from Bertie County, NC. The reason I ask is because Col. Abner WHATLEY was the father of Virginia C. WHATLEY (1833-1911) who married John Miller WRIGHT (1832-1910) of Hammond, Aiken County, South Carolina. Their daughter, Junie Whatley WRIGHT (1866-1900) married Col. William Richter MUSTIN, Esq. (1857-1901) of Madison, GA on 25 Apr 1894 in Beech Island, SC, the home of the WRIGHTS and WHATLEYS. Willie, a graduate of Mercer University and a prominent attorney in Madison, was my 1C1R. He and Junie died childless and both are buried in the City Cemetery, Madison, Morgan County, GA with the rest of the RICHTER family. John R.
