Does anyone know of a book for Greene County that recorded marriages of African-Americans performed right after the Civil War? These were unions that former slaves wanted sanctioned by law. Some of these registers gave lots of details....it really depended on the County Clerk. There might have been a pre-Civil War "colored marriages" register for Greene County as well. If you have access to either of these would you please look up Fed Park, b. 1838. I am looking for the name of his spouse and the mother of his children. Thanks! G.
