I have this that I got from Genforum on the Alford's The AAFA has much on this family and it can be traced back to John Alford around 1645. If you wish for more info, just e-mail the AAFA and I am sure their records are more complete than mine. (John Rogers posting on this family on GenForum.com) All the lineage information I have comes from internet genealogy sites - one an AAFA Family Tree Maker site and the other, James L. Edenfield's site at www.edenfield.org. I have no idea how accurate these pedigrees are (I assume the Alford Family Association is pretty accurate). I know there are a lot of questions regarding the birthplace of Britain Sr. and whether he was a Revolutionary Soldier or not -- seems if it's on his gravestone that would be proof..?? trying to find out info about my ggggg grandparents - Joshua Askew and Aley Alford.... there seem to be two pairs of individuals with those names right at the end of the 1700's-- one set in Bertie/Buncombe, NC and another set in Greene, Co., GA... Julius Alford (Julius Caesar's father) may be the link to this puzzle... Julius Caesar appears to be the brother of my Aley, (her third son was named Julius), and Joshua Askew was a land owner in Morgan Co.GA 1810-28, right next door to Greene any recent info you have on these Alfords would be appreciated robert holley miami ----- Original Message ----- From: "Addice Thomas" <addice36@mywesties.com> To: <GAGREENE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, October 18, 2004 9:36 PM Subject: [Greene] Re: GAGREENE-D Digest V04 #158 > > I have several names of interest in Greene Co., GA.
