Would there be anything in your book about Joseph Roberts, Revolutionary War Vet or any Roberts for that matter. Thank you Pat
David Roberts is in the list of shareholders in the Oconee Navigation Co. April 1, 1812 Isaac Roberts bought 420 2-5 acres of land in 1836 on the Shoulderbone Creek. Virgil Roberts operated a cabinet shop in Greensboro for many years , and among other things, he made fine walnut and cedar coffins. After burial caskets became an article of merchandise, he packed up his tools and other equipment and moved to Atlanta and opened a shop there. And as "Tech" added him to its staff of mastermechanics soon after it was opened, we must conclude that he had made a reputation as a master-workman in his adopted home. Mr. Roberts remained at "Tech until his death, which occurred just a few yrs. ago. (1940) David Roberts marr. Eliza Green Roberts on Dec. 20, 1818 Andrew Roberts marr. Pat, I had just been going over Joseph AGAIN the other day- and the fact that he was in Pittsylvania Co. Va when dtr. married...(Susannah) (And of course my Isaac married Jane Glenn Musgrove of Pittsylvania Co. Va lines) Found more on his son Joseph- his two sons Coleman M & Burchell (Burchett????) M... On Theba Irby-I found no more -but sure he ties in with the Greene Co. ones too. Do you have any idea where he and Tabitha Roberts settled? I did find - Leonard Shelton- married Pittsylvania Susannah Roberts-dtr of Joseph. Nothing forward, but I found him a few generations BACK- (And I think all I had was she married a Shelton) I found no more on Peter Hawles-married Polly 1804 Greene. Where did they dissapear to? Allen, son of Joseph- said to be the Grandson of James Allen and the Haywoods of NC. A grandson of his was named Haywood. (I found nothing but the referance) (And that Allen and Elizabeth Hardwick were pioneers of Hancock) Do you thiny Harwood-which Joseph named a son-and Hardwick-are somehow the same? Somehow, possibly in Joseph his Father died 1778 Henry Co Va- is a clue to my Isaac, but I know nothing more about that Joseph's children. Do you? And somehow- possibly- my Isaac ties to the Granville Co. NC bunch-as they too hung around together. Have you any updates?
