Dear Ann, Thank you kindly for the Marriage Book look ups. I truly appreciate your help. I am interested in the Nancy HOOBSon May 12, 1818. She married a Henry Greer and possibly became of widow Greer.(See your look up below.) Are there other Hoobs grooms or brides in the book? She was said to have been born in 1790 and the marriage age of Nancy Hoobs would be good. Good to have children and maybe become a widow. Then she may have married Mr. Geer later. Nancy Ann Geer was documented as being the mother of Evaline Greer Blasingame.(From Greene) She shows up on a census in Walton Co. Ga as a widow living with her daughter, Evaline, I t shows Nancy Ann Geer as a very old woman. This is a great idea and may prove that she married lst a Greer then a GEER. The spelling of census takers and courthouse folks is something else of old..Confusing a lot! Thanks again. Elizabeth, Henry Greer married Nancy Hobbs on 12 May 1818 in Greene County, Ga. This Henry Greer was the son of William Greer and Delilah Haynes Greer, my line. He married Polly Nicholls second; I have a copy of that marriage record also. Nancy Ann Haynes Greer Geer was the mother of Evaline. She first married James Greer, son on Vincent Greer of Greene County, Ga. Then she married William Geer who was made guardian of the 5 orphaned children of James Greer when he died about 1808. Long time since I have heard f rom you, My research is winding down--age, eye sight and bad health keeps me from researching as much as I once did.
