Josephine "Josie" Horton. Trying to find out information on Josie's family, "The Hortons". I have no date as to when Stephen and Josie Maddux where married, but must be around 1885/86. Oldest son was born in 1886. Stephen Thomas was born May 4, 1863 d. November 28, 1922 Keystone, Pawnee County, Oklahoma. Buried: Sennett Memorial Cemetery, Keystone, Pawnee County, Ok. Josephine was born: August 12, 1866 Tennessee d. June 11, 1955 Sand Springs, Tulsa County, Oklahoma. Buried: Sinnett Cemetery, Keystone, Pawnee County, Oklahoma. Have not been able to find them in the Census records anywhere. Josie's death certificate has mother and father as unknown. Stephen and Josie had the following children. Stephen Wesley Maddux: b. March 13, 1886 Ft. Smith, Sebastian County, Arkansas d. June 16, 1964 Tulsa, Tulsa County, Oklahoma. Married: Arnettie "Nettie" Lord Myrtle Maddux Jimmy Maddux Ellie Maddux Harrison J. Maddux b. June 115, 1892 d. April 16, 1966 Arkansas Harvey Maddux Hurley Maddux b. February 1, 1901 d. September 1, 1966 Cordie Maddux Lillie Maddux Florence Maddux b. April 12, 1903 d. No guarantees, but there is a ring ( one of those bunch of names wherein everyone marries everyone else) in Warren Co, North Carolina in the 1770-1790 period, of Maddox/Mattux, Horton, Harris, Riggan/Regan/Riggins/Ragan. They split , and by the early 1800's a big group of the same cast of characters is in either Tennessee or Georgia. Tennessee was the base of a lot of Rev War land grants used to pay off soldiers and Georgia had land lotteries.Both of these branches eventually have family in Ark and AL..You might check for land records in TN or GA..I am the GA to AL arm.
