    1. [Greene] "Pear Orchard Crossing"
    2. A friend gave me an article recently published in the Greenesboro paper about the "Pear Orchard Crossing" home belonging to the Lords. It mentions that the home was built in 1857 by Elliott Corneilus Bowden for his Daughter Eliza Bowden Shy. Eliza Bowden Shy was the wife of William H. Shy who was a brother of my great grandfather, James Mallard Shy. I have William H. Shy being born in 1847 and marrying in 1868. I have two questions that I need help on. 1. Is the 1857 date correct as to the building of the house? Eliza was probably ten or less at the time if the date is correct. Possibly he could have built it for her with her future in mind. 2. William and Eliza had a child that was killed in an accident at the age of five. I don't have her name or any possible siblings. If anyone should know them I would appreciate that information.
