Surnames: Slaughter Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Ic.2ADI/1199 Message Board Post: Searching for info on Martin Slaughter, b 1778 in VA, came to Greene County in 1800's to live near his grandmother Sarah Slaughter. He shows up in the 1820 census and married Susannah Ashfield Johnson about 1802 who was born in Greene County. Any info needed on Martin or Sarah Slaughter and Susannah Ashfield Johnson and her parents.
Thanks for your suggestions to improve Greene County's Civil War records. We appreciate your efforts. It is hard to get to GA regularly from TX and your Greene Co. web site is great. My Tuggles were there in early 1800's and I need much help to prove my George Tuggle line and my Davis Reynolds who married Catherine Tuggle there in 1823. ----- Original Message ----- From: Crilley <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, September 20, 2001 2:28 PM Subject: [Greene] Civil War Regiments for Greene County > Greene County, Georgia Civil War Units > 3rd Regiment, Georgia Infantry, Company C, Dawson Grays > 3d Regiment Georgia Volunteer Infantry - Co. Hi Rose, Not to butt in, but Carolyn is a Reynolds cousin I found first on the internet. She is descended from William (Billy) Reynolds who was a brother of the Littleberry who is my husband's ancestor. She is a double descendant as she is a Reynolds/Durham descendant. The Reynolds and Durhams intermarried a lot back in GA. Hope you are well. Hello MHH: Question: do you know the origins of the name "Yelverton"? I, too, have someone from Greene Co. GA with the given name Yelverton, born c. 1795. Yes I am probably on your cousins Reynolds-Durham as I too have both. Was the William Tuggle in GA perhaps Greene or Oglethorpe County? That is the area the ones in that time frame came from VA into. Was so amused the description "in the woods behind chicken house. Few sinks near." Have seen many home grave yards that fit that description completly, but to read it sounds so funny. Am anxious to hear more especially if we connect to the Tuggles in GA and then Gone to Texas.
