How-dee, group. First, a personal request. I am looking for information regarding Comfort Ida Jones of Gilmer County, Georgia. She was born March 13, 1829 and married John Daniel Nelson. I am primarily interested in her parentage, but am also interested in J.D. Nelson. They were married at Cherry Log. He was a gunsmith who had a place at Boardtown as well (he made the Nelson Rifle). I am also looking for information on George W. Watkins. Any information on him is muchly appreciated. Secondly, as the County Coordinator for Gilmer County in the GAGenWeb Project, I am looking for help on Gilmer County. I am looking for people who have done transcriptions of Gilmer County genealogical records to post on the site for others to use. If you have transcriptions, please send them to me offlist. If you are willing to help with transcriptions, please let me know, too. :) I am also looking for volunteers to perform look-ups. Look-ups are done by request in books that you have and are limited to three names per request. In essence, all you do is look up the name and respond with a small amount of information (determined by you) or respond that you were unable to find said person.
