    3. I am trying to determine which river in Gilmer County would have been called this name Cotacoa, in 1837??? Has anyone come across this in reading any materials associated with the city of Ellijay... says it is on this river... was that the name that the Ellijay River was known as first?     3. There is a map dated 1827 on page 5 in the book Whites among the Cherokee that shows the principal stream Valleys in Cherokee Georgia. No referance to Cotacoa on it.
