    3. I am looking for a possible connection between the Rees(c)e and the Akins families. I have noticed them living amongst each other on more than one occasion...as well as being listed together on several public documents. The family of Ezekiel Akins removed to Gilmer Co. GA from NC around 1835 or so. A daughter of Ezekiel, Sarah, married William Calloway Ammons. William died during the Civil War. Sarah Akins Ammons then married William M. Stokes, also a Confederate veteran, in 1865.
