I will be able to help you a lot. Will see what all there is on the Jones connection. I am related to a Jones from this area also. Though the Jones surname is one that there are a million families in, could be somehow related. My Sophia Jones, b. 1802 in Ga. married Barnabus ARTHUR and moved to what was then Cherokee, but became Pickens Co. They lived in Long Swamp area which housed the origional Marble Co. It is still going strong today. This will be an exciting project. I have to go out of town for the night tomorrow night so give me until Tues, if you don't mind. Will still try to get over to Pickens today. Your John and Comfort lived in Talking Rock, Pickens Co., in the 1860 census. That is a bit north of Nelson. Probably when he sold out to the Marble Co., they moved to Talking Rock. It is a very small town and my FREEMAN ancestors are from there also.
