Seeking any information on Nathaniel Green Felmet, married to Preshous Mannerva Carter. Married 8/17/1937 in Haywood Co., NC. Soon afterward moved to Gilmer Co., GA. Family of Nathaniel Green Felmet is found on the 1840 and 1850 census for Gilmer Co, GA. I have information that Nathaniel served in the Confederate Army out of Gilmer Co., GA. His family is as follows: Nathaniel Green Felmet married Preshous Mannerva Carter Henry Arthur Felmet, born abt 1838 Eliza Felmet, born abt 1845 Kate Felmet, born abt 1845 John H. Felmet, born 1/4/1846 Sarah Felmet, born 1848 Warren Felmet, born 1849 Mary Gelmet, born 1855 George William Felmet, born 1/9/1857 Harriet A. Felmet, born 12/16/1859 Amelia Felmet, born abt 1860 Nancy Jane Felmet, born 5/9/1862 Nathaniel G. Felmet, born abt 1863 It seems that Preshous probably died while Nathaniel was at war. By 1870 he is living in Clark Co., Indiana. Our family oral history is that he was captured, and spent the war in a Union prision. At war's end, he took the "oath" and was involuntarily relocated to Indiana. Oral history also says, that Preshous' younger sister, Martha Carter, took his younger children (by wagon) to him in Indiana. Nathaniel married Martha. Children born to Nathaniel and Martha: Margaret E. Felmet, born abt 1870 Elizabeth Mahalia, born 6/9/1882 I have infomration on Harriet (My great grandmother) who married James M. Baugh. Am seeking information on others in Felmet family. Information indicates that older children remained in Georgia. Thank you for any help, Dora Savage Albrecht
