Below is an e-mail I received from the Gilmer County Library that might interest you. Good Luck Linda, I am at the Gilmer County Library in Ellijay, GA ... your question posted on the Sequoyah Library System's website was forwarded to me by the staff at the headquarters when they were not able to find an obituary for William Kinsey. Unfortunately, we don't have any obits or local newspapers that date back to 1884. Where did you find the articles you mentioned in your email ?? Our book "Heritage of Gilmer County" has hundreds of family articles in it that were submitted by the public in 1996 when it was published. One article is for a William W. Kimzey family. He was a teacher in the county and one of his children was a William B. who it says " died September 1884 from a richoceting bullet fired during a shootout by two other men, at Doublehead Gap not far from his home in Gilmer County".. No mention of a wife for him and his birth year is given as 1855 - he was one of 10 children of William W. and Elizabeth Smith Kimzey. I wonder if this could be the person you are looking for, although there is a variation of the spelling of the name. ?? The shooting as cause of death and the 1884 date would match your information.
