http://home1.gte.net/jmkell/AlexanderKell.htm Unfortunately in most of these historical books females get little if any attention. In many cases they are only referred to a daughters or by their married name. Kell is a historically sound name in Gilmer County but little reference is made on the facts surrounding their history. The first mention has to do with James Kell a Revolutionary War Vet who stayed in Ellijay. What is not said is he probably was part of the raiding party with Sevier in 1782 to burn the town of Ellijay to the ground because it had a sound "Indian" government at the time. It wasn't mentioned but perhaps James married a Cherokee because his sons were considered mixed bloods and were given allowances to stay in Gilmer if they renounced their heritage. The link above may help with some of the descendancy. Alexander Kell's genealogy lists a Georgianna but the Syniard name is not found on anything so far. Perhaps there was another marriage besides the one listed above. I can look further when I go to the library and see if anything shows up in anything else there. Also if you haven't tried it. there is a Kell Genforum. http://genforum.genealogy.com/kell/ Using the search word Elkin you may find your information and a cousin. Good luck, Leslie
