Message Forwarded from From: Wally Plumley [mailto:wplumley@bellsouth.net] Sent: Saturday, April 28, 2001 12:29 PM Subject: {not a subscriber} Plumley, Painter, Pritchett I am researching the Plumley/Plumlee, Painter and Pritchett lines in Gilmer County. I am especially trying to push past Mary A. Plumley, who came to Gilmer just before 1850 with three small children. I would like to know something about her ex-husband (?) Jackson C. Plumlee, of Tennessee, and her last husband, a Mr. Elliott. I will be happy to discuss any of these lines with any researchers. Wally Plumley Acworth, Georgia

    3. I have visited your webpages briefly and am anxious to explore them. They contain a wealth of information. Thank you for sharing. Searching in GILMER County for information on Toliver Watkins (Wadkins) and his ancestors and descendants. Family records list Toliver's wife as Sarah Logwood, born ca. 1805 in North Carolina, but I have not found her in any census records to date. Census records show Toliver in CHEROKEE County Georgia in 1850 living with Nancy, Elizabeth, John, Polly, William, Rosetta, Mary, Jane; in GILMER County Georgia in 1860 living with Nancy, Julia D. Sarah L. and Rutha E.; and in FANNIN County Georgia in 1870 living with Nancy. Family records show the following children: John, Polly Ann (married Lowe), Rosetta (married Ratliff), Sarah L. (married Ivey), Nancy (married Pearn), Rutha Elvira (married John Marion Quarles-they are my great grandparents). Sarah Crowe Barker > >

    3. Marie & Others, I am looking for information on 3 family lines in Gilmer County: WARLICK, COBB, and BRADLEY. Ellison COBB was born about 1795 in South Carolina. He appears on the 1850 census of Gilmer County. He married Cynthia Hutchins (some have said Synthia James). Both are buried in Ellijay . Their son John P. COBB, born 1827, married Mary Louisa BRADLEY, b. 1831. They moved to Texas later in life and are buried there. A son, John P. COBB, Jr., b. 1861, married Belle SUTTON, b. 1866. Belle's ancestors were in Habersham County. She died in 1898 and John Cobb married Elizabeth Truman. All are buried in Ellijay. John and Belle Sutton Cobb had a daughter, Pauline P. COBB b. 1888. Pauline Cobb married Crisler WARLICK. Crisler WARLICK b. 1882, in Gilmer County, was the son of William Hicks Warlick. William Hicks Warlick arrived in Gilmer about 1862. He was born about 1852 in North Carolina.William Hicks WARLICK married Emily Adeline McMILLAN, b. 1854. All buried in Ellijay. Briant BRADLEY married Malinda (Eaton?) and appears on the 1850 Gilmer census. They were in Pickens Co in a later census. My cousin Bobby says Malinda was not an Eaton, but I can't find her notes right now. I would like to hear from anyone researching these families, and would be happy to share what I have. Donna Warlick
