My Mother was born in Gilmer Co in 1912 (East Ellijay). 5 of her siblings were also. Her parents were Jessie Phillip Green and Ethel Ellen Keener Green. My Father's side, from Elijah Marion Ellis through several generations, were from there. I am searching for anything on Earl E Stephens and his wife Susan Green( not related to Mother's Greens). These were my Father's Grandparents and I have no clues about their families. Also just my curosity, can anyone give me the name of the Midwife in Gilmer Co in the 1910-1920 called Granny Sawyer? To all, I am looking for anyone in families named PARRIS and/or TUCKER. Robert PARRIS married Lovina Tucker in Gilmer County in 1842. Robert died in January 1864, and Lovina 6 months later, but we don't know where they are buried. We believe they came to Gilmer from S.C. They had children: Theresa (Teresa, Treacy) Jemima b.1844, James Nathaniel b.1849, Robert Lee, Jr. b.1853, Nathan Haswell b. 1856, Martha Susan (Mattie) b. 1858, and Alford Adolphus b. 1861. DAVENPORT family and later m. Permilla Elmira DAVENPORT on 9/12/1897, in Ellijay, GA. John Robert might have had a sister named Mary who married a CRONAN.
