Was wondering if anyone on the list lives or has lived in Gilmer County. I have a death certificate for my great great grandmother, Nancy Weeks. The name of the Funeral Home on the death certificate isn't real clear, it looks like Morse. Does anyone remember a funeral home by that name. She died in 1927. I know that today there are only two that operate in Gilmer County, and Morse isn't one of them. Suzanne Forte
Seeking any information on any KEE family members with ties to the Jesse and Mourning BURRELL family who were in Gilmer Co., GA anywhere from l830 to l863. I realize the Burrells remained in the Gilmer-Union-Fannin counties after the Civil War, but some of the children of Thomas and Andrew KEE may also have scattered themselves out in those counties. Looking for details on Thomas' children: William Riley KEE (or Wriley KEE); and dau Catherine KEE who had married John TANNER. They likely relocated to Fannin Co., but what happened to them and their children? Don't find them on later census records. Additionally, does anyone have information on who Rueben JOHNSON was? Thanks. Arnetta Kee-Whitlock
Does anyone have a source to look up the second marriage of Lucius P. Smith? His 1st wife was Mary A. Craigo. The 2nd wife was Adeline ?. At one time I thought she was Mary Adeline Fish, but another researcher says that she wasn't the one. He mentioned bequests to "Adeline's children" in his will (Henry A. and Ann E.). Then he makes bequests to "my" 2 children(Lucius H. and Elisabeth) who are still at home. Then he makes another bequest to "my 2 children(Lucius H. and Elisabeth). Then another bequest to "my 3 sons" John R., Joseph T.(my grandfather) and Daniel A. Smith. Another bequest to "my" daughter Mary Brokaw? or Bookaw? After reading the will I am confused about if the children listed, are mine, hers and ours. I have John R. b. 1852; Joseph Thomas, b. 1854; Daniel A. b. 1856; Mary L. b.1858; Elizabeth b. 1860; Lucius Hamilton b. 1862. Since Henry A. and Ann E. aren't listed in these children, I feel they may be Adeline's by a 1st marriage of hers. Anyone know what Henry A.' s surname is. Thanks. 'Lee Fry afry@adelphia.net

Seeking any information on Nathaniel Green Felmet, married to Preshous Mannerva Carter. Married 8/17/1937 in Haywood Co., NC. Soon afterward moved to Gilmer Co., GA. Family of Nathaniel Green Felmet is found on the 1840 and 1850 census for Gilmer Co, GA. I have information that Nathaniel served in the Confederate Army out of Gilmer Co., GA. His family is as follows: Nathaniel Green Felmet married Preshous Mannerva Carter Henry Arthur Felmet, born abt 1838 Eliza Felmet, born abt 1845 Kate Felmet, born abt 1845 John H. Felmet, born 1/4/1846 Sarah Felmet, born 1848 Warren Felmet, born 1849 Mary Gelmet, born 1855 George William Felmet, born 1/9/1857 Harriet A. Felmet, born 12/16/1859 Amelia Felmet, born abt 1860 Nancy Jane Felmet, born 5/9/1862 Nathaniel G. Felmet, born abt 1863 It seems that Preshous probably died while Nathaniel was at war. By 1870 he is living in Clark Co., Indiana. Our family oral history is that he was captured, and spent the war in a Union prision. At war's end, he took the "oath" and was involuntarily relocated to Indiana. Oral history also says, that Preshous' younger sister, Martha Carter, took his younger children (by wagon) to him in Indiana. Nathaniel married Martha. Children born to Nathaniel and Martha: Margaret E. Felmet, born abt 1870 Elizabeth Mahalia, born 6/9/1882 I have infomration on Harriet (My great grandmother) who married James M. Baugh. Am seeking information on others in Felmet family. Information indicates that older children remained in Georgia. Thank you for any help, Dora Savage Albrecht
