Am wondering if anyone on this list knows of a copy of a picture of either Moses Teague, his brother Isaac Curry Teague or Nathaniel Green Felmet. Moses and Isaac are buried in Mt Zion Cem in East Ellijay! Both their wives are buried in Northeast Texas. I have a picture of Maray Ann (Black) Teague's tombstone near her daughter Rachel who married John Henry Felmet son of Nathaniel. I also have a picture of Warren Clayton Felmet circa 1900 if anyone is interested. Warren married Mary Ann 'Sis' Teague. Does anyone know who the parents of Mary Ann (Black) Teague were? Thanks to this list, I have already met my mother's 4th cousin on this side. Seems my Great grandmother(Jane Estelle Felmet) was both a double first cousin twice over and a double Second Cousin. Timothy Henry PS: Do I have any more cousins out there?
Thank you, Pat. Yes, I have the 1850 census in Franklin Co. TN and the 1860 census in Gilmer Co., GA. Sarah is widowed in 1860. We don't know what happened to John Niblo between 1850 and 1860. I descend from their son, Henry Grady Niblo (the William on the 1850 census). This family is associated with the Osborn family who were also from Gilmer Co. Sarah's father, Henry Grady, was a merchant in Elijay. The family was originally from North Carolina with deep roots in NC, TN and GA. Looking for history on any of the family while they were in Gilmer co. Thanks for your reply. Susanna................ From what I've read online, it looks like you have not found this family in the 1850 census............ I also noticed with the 1880 census, it was given that the father, John Niblow/Niblo was from New York............ District #1 Franklin Co., TN 26 August 1850 64-64 John NIBLOW 38 Stone cutter PA Sarah M. 31 NC Charles 6 NC John W. 5 NC William H. 3 TN Sarah Louisa 1 TN ****************************************************************************************************************************************************** The above was possible because reading my e-newletter "Ancestry Daily News" tonight, it was announced that the 1850 every name index was available. It was Charles that led me to find the family in TN, aren't children just wonderful tools in searching the census', especially if their name is not a common one.........................Pat Tucker/NJ
I am researching my ggg-grandmothers' family Sarah Morgan Grady Niblo. Sarah's sister, Harriet Sammons Grady, married Jonathan Osborn in 1832 in Buncombe Co., NC. The Osborn's moved to Georgia in about 1836. The Jonathan Osborn's moved on to Parker Co., Texas in the 1870's. I would like to know more about them, Harriett's father - Henry Grady, and anything about Sarah's family, especially her husband, John Niblo. I have the descendancies of several of Sarah's children. She stated she had 8 children in the 1900 census. (Two were living at that time). We have identified 5 of those children - and the fate of only 3. Sarah Morgan Grady Niblo is listed in the 1860 Gilmer Co., GA census. Her father, Henry Grady, died in 1879 and is buried in the Mountaintown Baptist Church Cemetery in Ellijay.
