I'm pleased to announce that Harris Hill has agreed to be the new coordinator for Marion County. Harris has done a wonderful job with Schley County and brings so much enthusiasm to his work. He's been transcribing newspapers, researching Civil War Letters and Company rosters for some time now. harrishill@starband.net Marion and Schley are closely connected, so much of the data overlaps. I consider myself very lucky to have someone of this caliber working in West Central Region. Virginia Crilley
Welcome Harris, And "thank you" for the work you and Virginia have already done for Schley, I had some ancestors in Schley and Sumter, many had moved on to Alabama and then part of those on to Texas by the time 'the War For Southern Independence' began, but I keep hoping these brothers and uncles to my grandfathers might lead me to something on them [my grandfathers]. Virginia, thanks for letting us know that Marion is one of the overlapping areas, maybe I need to look there too. Thank you for ALL the work you do for the GAGenWeb project. I honestly don't know how you deal with it all, but appreciate the many hours you dedicate out of your life. Congratulations Harris. I know this is another county in excellent hands...a coordinator that does quality work and shares with others as you did for Monroe County. You are also fortunate to have an excellent Regional Coordinator in Virginia Crilley. Actually, this organization on the whole consists of a great number of really good people. Enjoy!
