The fact is - things are not working as they are. For whatever reason. Looking back, I have never stayed where I was not wanted except when my ego was involved. And then - I fought to prove a point. IMO - if the people who started this have GaGenWeb as their focal point - rather than ego - they would have stepped away by now. I have seldom seen the people in question answer any questions without some form of defensiveness - even before this started. Since we are all volunteers supposedly working for the same cause, why have questions been taken on by personalities rather than the title one holds? This project isn't personal - our webpages are personal to us - but the project is a group of strangers who - hopefully - attempt to help each other better our pages, better our resources, better our data online. Online. Not in person. Online. Their is nothing negative here. Or there shouldn't be. This is like an online love affair that has gone terribly wrong. Normally under these circumstances - whether online or in real time - the parties go their separate ways. I have nothing against any of them personally. I don't know them. I have questioned some of their managerial methods and skills, even that does not make me dislike them. Perhaps the blending of these particular people's personalities is to blame. Maybe individually they are less caustic and more supportive. I am a signer of said petition. This is why: we must discard this turmoil. We must become productive again. The infighting must stop in order for us to do that. Too many people have issues here that are not GaGenWeb related; however, it is touching each of us. Having read some of the posts the people in question have written on other boards, I see they are combative there too. Petty may be a better word. Correcting others' human errors. Perhaps it is their nature - or ego - that drives them to this - I don't know. And yes, I love a good debate and have added to and started some here. To the best of my recollection, I have never spell checked any of your posts - nor corrected an obvious error. The real question we all have to answer within ourselves is - what is best for GaGenWeb? What is the healthiest way for us to move past this as a group - and become productive? Personalities should not be a part of our decision process. I believe it is with new leadership (and before you ask - I do not want any position except as county/ies coordinator.) A fresh start, new visions, clean slate. I do not believe having the persons in question remain will be productive. And I question why they have not placed GaGenWeb before their egos.
