    3. Welcome aboard Michele. It always great to have someone new joining the group. However, I am going back to work 1 day a week soon at McDuffie County Hosp in the ER as a RN. My husband has retired from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office in FL so he can stay home with the kids on the day that I work :) > > We moved to McDuffie Co in Nov. My husband was born in Augusta so we moved here to be near all of his extended family (inlcuding his dead ancestors!) I have been doing research in Richmond, Columbia, Lincoln and McDuffie Counties for 6 years now. I am very happy to be able to the research locally now instead of long distance. > > I am working to update the McDuffie County web page. My highest priority is getting some of the cemeteries in McDuffie surveyed. We are woefully behind some of the other counties. Today I posted two new cemeteries (Neal Family Cemetery in Dearing and Westview Cemetery in Thomson). The man that surveyed Westview is working on the Thomson City Cemetery which is WONDERFUL! That cemetery is very big and old and full of great history. > > I have been very lucky in that two local people have stepped up and have volunteered to help me. > > Another project that I am working on is trying to prove there once was a TB sanitarium in Boneville in the late 1880s. Believe it or not, I can't find any documentation though I do have access to some letters that were written by a man that died in the sanitarium. Porr little Boneville is a forgotten little speck in McDuffie County. > > And that is about it for me. > > Hugs... > > Michele > > > *** All outgoing mail checked by Norton AntiVirus *** > > > ==== GAGEN Mailing List ==== > Genealogy research usually begins with our great-grandparents to preserve > the privacy of 'living persons'.
