    3. And the reason for that Gloria is that because we now have these "guidelines" they are being used to target people personally and not used equally. CC's are being dismissed who barely are out of the guidelines, if at all, while other CC's blatantly ignore the guidelines and are never even questioned. It's fairness that we want. I don't have a personal issue with anyone, but I want fairness for ALL. But there seems to be the same ones who pick, pick and pick. so yes, we speak out, we are not accustomed to so many who are trying to run the project like they are accustomed to running their businesses or taking part in political and governmental jobs. We are just family historians and do not need nor want this constant battering of the other CCs. If it isn't Margie then it is Tim that some of you are constantly trying to bait for an argument or debate or whatever you call it. And I for one don't think the bickering will stop even if you voted Tim out of office. This project is near and dear to some of our hearts. There are some old timers that you never hear from but they are here reading every note. They are busy with their pages and could care less about politics and then there are some of us who will speak out when we feel the project is being threatened and harm is being done to some of those who have helped build this project up. Tim and Margie both have been here a long time, since the beginning of the GAGenWeb Project and each of them have helped it to grow. Most of us have quietly changed our pages as logos changed, requirements changed and not fought it. 3. In re to the guidelines Debra had requested that the RC's review all the pages in GaGenWeb for compliance. Based on the complaints received, the RCs have been requested to begin that review; so with that in mind, please don't feel that you are being singled out if you receive notes from your RC in re to items in re to compliance, all the sites will be reviewed. 3. Just sticking my two cents worth in here, with a thought. In TX we have what we call Surfer's. These people, and I happen to be one of them surf our area county pages, looking for compliance with our guidelines, as well as checking the pages for content. We do this on a monthly basis. Afterwards we send in a county in our area suggesting they win the county of the month award. It's kind of neat, and gives us a chance to view other pages and to keep our pages up and adding more content to win that award. Might not be a bad idea here. The pages would be checked monthly, to solve that compliance problem and at the same time we might win that award to put on our county page. We also have the awards page that lists who wins each month and of those, one is selected as county of the year. I haven't won yet, but I keep hoping. <grin> Jan Cortez Banks County ----- Original Message ----- From: " Brenda Pierce" <ltlbit@mindspring.com> To: <GAGEN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, March 22, 2003 1:31 PM Subject: [GAGEN] Site Compliance & Review > In re to the guidelines Debra had requested that the RC's review all the > pages in GaGenWeb for compliance. > > Based on the complaints received, the RCs have been requested to begin that > review; so with that in mind, please don't feel that you are being singled > out if you receive notes from your RC in re to items in re to compliance, > all the sites will be reviewed. > > Thanks, > Brenda > > > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Debra Crosby" <poohbos@poohbos.com> > To: <GAGEN-L@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Tuesday, March 25, 2003 9:01 PM > Subject: Re: [GAGEN] The Petition and Rebuttal (Groundwork) > > > And the reason for that Gloria is that because we now have these > "guidelines" they are being > used to target people personally and not used equally. > CC's are being dismissed who barely are out of the guidelines, if at all, > while other CC's blatantly > ignore the guidelines and are never even questioned. > It's fairness that we want. 3. Tim has asked me and others at times to change or add things to our pages. He has called us down when we off topic on the list. I see that he has been fair after reading the material about Ms. Moon and some of the others. So I can not see any reason that this entire matter had to occur. All of us on the GAGenWeb Project do not agree with the petition and did not sign the petition. Nor do we have a problem with the action which Tim took in each of those instances. As for the guidelines please tell us who is ignoring the guidelines but please take it to the GALINA List if the list of names and items ignored will be long.
