>COMPLAINT #3 On 09 DEC 2002, Permission was sought and given >to Tim Stowell to add Bettie Wood to GA Council/GAGENWEB since as >stated in Attachment B, she had a state Special Project. Then on 04 FEB >2003, Bettie was unsubscribed from Council, and has no further word on >the Council's vote to keep the FGS Project a state Special Project. >Here's the history of FGS: >http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/read/GAGEN/2003-02/1045624461 >A brief description is that the FGS started in the Archives Feb 2002, >but FGS are not original documents so Tim Stowell was asked to make this >a state project, which he did about March or April 2002 before the new >guidelines went into effect. In May 2002: >http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/read/GAGEN/2002-05/1022359881 >Tim Stowell announced some new CCs, along with the fact that Bettie >Wood was now doing Barrow County, stating that she already did Walton >County, and the FGS Project. He did not mention the fact that she also >maintained some GA Archives counties, and Special Project Photo Album >since they are not specific GAGenWeb projects. Tim also did not mention >that Bettie maintained a Richmond County web site as this was not yet >part of GAGenWeb. No, the FGS was not made a special project in March or April 2002. If Ms. Wood thinks otherwise she is mistaken. On 3/23/02 I wrote to Ms. Wood: Bettie, Ah. I may have to contact him then for a graphic myself. I don't completely understand your last sentence - so I hope it's ok that I use a graphic copy to point to your project from the main Georgia page. Tim -------- Note - a link to - that's all. ------------------------------ On 6/8/02 again to Ms. Wood: Bettie, While we're waiting on the outcome of Richmond - and it should be soon, for I'm not gonna wait forever, even though it must seem so to you, I've got a couple of items I wish to run by you. First - regarding you note - Remember my idea? - would you consider taking on the Unknown Queries Project for Georgia? ------------- Unknown Queries Project - was a Special Project and we had a coordinator who wanted to give that up due to other pressing responsibilities. That was the Special Project I asked Ms. Wood to take on. ----------------- Date: Sun, 09 Jun 2002 16:05:11 -0500 From: Bosque Lover <nana321@txucom.net> Organization: http://www.wtv-zone.com/cuzicare/U-Gotta-Friend-N-Me.swf X-Mailer: Mozilla 4.79 [en] (Windows NT 5.0; U) X-Accept-Language: en To: Tim Stowell <tstowell@chattanooga.net> CC: keith@giddeon.com Subject: Re: two items X-Spam-Status: No, hits=1.4 required=10.0 tests=FROM_ENDS_IN_NUMS,AWL version=2.20 X-Spam-Level: * > First - regarding you note - Remember my idea? - would you consider > taking on the Unknown Queries Project for Georgia? I will need more time to think about this. I am looking for someone to help me. If you can find someone else that would be great, as I'm just not sure. No luck so far. Do you need any RCs, or a RC helper? I'm not sure of everything that involves, but I'm sure I could learn. Has anyone heard anything about poor little Richmond County yet? Bettie Wood <>< ------------------------------------- 12/9/02: Bettie, I'm seeking your permission to add you to the GAGENWEB mailing list. As the head of a state Special Project that is your right to be there. The list is small - about 12 of us. We discuss items relating to the GAGenWeb Project, some of which is confidential and/or a planning area to discuss how best to focus our group effort. Tim Stowell SC GAGenWeb ---------------------------- And yet on 1/26/03 I still find she hadn't done diddly with the Unknown Queries Project for this is her reply to my question regarding it: Date: Sun, 26 Jan 2003 19:33:32 -0600 From: Bosque Lover <nana321@txucom.net> Organization: EC, GA & TX CC, AR, GA, & TX Archives, USGWP SP & TX ASC X-Mailer: Mozilla 4.79 [en] (Windows NT 5.0; U) X-Accept-Language: en To: Tim Stowell <tstowell@chattanooga.net> Subject: Re: alt. address X-Spam-Status: No, hits=1.0 required=6.0 tests=CARRIAGE_RETURNS,FROM_ENDS_IN_NUMS,NOSPAM_INC, QUOTED_EMAIL_TEXT,REFERENCES,SPAM_PHRASE_05_08, USER_AGENT_MOZILLA_XM,X_ACCEPT_LANG version=2.43 X-Spam-Level: * > So now you are on both lists under both addresses - once each. I'd have to give this some thought, & I'm sure it wouldn't be until at least March. I can give you what you need for someone else to have the Query Express thing I set up. Just let me know. Bettie <>< > If you do take this on, I'd fix the old pages, to reflect your name/address > as a contact person and fix any broken links. ---------------------------- Her FGS was never made a special Project. She had been asked to take over Unknown Queries in June 2002 as a Special Project. She never did anything with it. Since she was added to the list as head of that Special Project but never did anything with it - for the broken links there consisted of over half the broken links on GAGenWeb, in order for her to remain on the Georgia Council as a SP coordinator some other project she worked on would have to be elevated to Special Project status. Therefore, it was right to ask if the Council would approve of her FGS as a Special Project for it was not at that point, nor is it now - for when the NC called for a halt to actions in Georgia on 2/4/03 - we stopped the vote and most everything was frozen as was. Most folks are asked to leave the room when an item that concerns them is voted on. Since Ms. Wood is not the head/host of any Special Project of Georgia, she has no right to sit on the Council and thus her claim doesn't hold. As for the other part of her complaint regarding announcements: Tim Stowell announced some new CCs, along with the fact that Bettie Wood was now doing Barrow County, stating that she already did Walton County, and the FGS Project. Response: Brenda Pierce the RC at that time had requested that I announce Betty and had included the statements in her email, those were what was included on the list, there was nothing meant at the time by excluding the other items, it was a matter of the items were what came to the RC's mind at the time. Brenda Pierce sends this response as well to the above complaint: 1). I believed that Tim had confused the unknown queries with the Group Sheet project. I had asked him to get Betty to help with the unknown queries project. 2) The email plainly stated when Tim put Betty on the list that if RC business needed to be conducted others could be unsubbed or etc. This would show that he did not mean her to be part of the council. 3) Two RC's contacted Richard (Pettys) in re to the fact that Betty was not part of the council and that Tim was confused.
