    3. At one time I used the full name and email address of the submitter. I now keep a private list and use the person's initials and last name on the pages. I place my email address on the page with a subject message that comes to me and then I know who to forward the message to. I then forward the message and cc the person that wrote me so they can be in direct contact with each other. If the email bounces I make a note of it and respond to the person and try to help if I can. If the submitter is on the mail list I ask them if they want queries to go to the list or to them. Many times they have no other information and do not want the queries since they have no additional information. In that case I send the query to the mail list and many times they get their answers there. I do that by using this coding whatever-L@rootsweb.com?subject=Friendship Cemetery Macon County, Ga. I am not quick on the trigger to place a copyright on public domain records that cannot be copyrighted. The site compilation may be the better copyright for this. I also have my doubts about HTML and Java coding being copyrighted by anyone other than those that created the program. I use scripting that is made available and I cannot in turn claim copyright. I do include the statement from the Java or coding when there is one placed. This also applies to Graphics that I use on sites that offer it for free. From a personal stand point. I transcribe a lot of information and send it to other counties in Georgia. When I do I ask that no copyright be placed on the information and that I not be listed because I do not want the email. I have no information on these surnames since they are not anything I am researching and it also complies with RW and USGENWEB material use statement. I do have a problem with my transcriptions being used and then others copyright placed on them. Absence of copyright does not equal right to use and place another's copyright on the material. Also absence of the submitter's email address and name may like me be at the request of the submitter. Have a great day.
