Dear GAGen List Mates, I received a message from Robert Latimer Hurst, night before last, he sent me some items for Ware County and also included two others, one pertaining to Camdem and one to Lanier. I sent him a note of thanks and asked his permission to offer them to the CCs of these counties. He was very much in favor and said that had been his desire, for me to get them posted to the proper places. As a matter of fact, he was asking me if Florida and South Carolina had these same programs. Some of his material was used by the SC Historical Society, he says. He has written for newspapers in South Georgia for a number of years. These are his articles along with some photos. Please let me know if you are interested in the following. If you are, I can send them by attachment. I will resize the photos first. They are HUGE. I have already resized the ones for Ware Co, and they still look very nice. There is an article on the Toonville Trolley in Camden County, GA a history of the popular cartoon and artist, from the early 1900s I believe, with a photo of the Trolley taken in Feb 2003. I believe the article said these toons were featured in the "Atlanta Journal Constitution". And the final document is on the murals in Lanier County, a brief history and notes on the artist etc, with photos of some of the murals taken in Feb of 2003 Sharon (Driver) Wright shadri@perry.gulfnet.com
