    1. Re: [GAGEN] voting - meet and greet
    2. Everyone should vote, however they vote. My name is Madonna "Donna" Parrish. My email is "my initials" I reside in Forsyth County, GA where I am the CEO of a water utility company. I was born in OK, went to school and college in FL . We had been married 43 years when my husband died in 99. I have 5 children, 4 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and another next month. I have lived in Forsyth County almost 23 years and owned property there 5 years longer. During that time I have been a Charter member of all the Historical Societies and with my mother published 2 books on Forsyth County (cemeteries and census indexes). In the 1970s, I wrote a genealogy column for the Forsyth County News. I was editor for the Historical Society newsletter the year we won the Georgia Mountains Award. I first started with Georgia Genweb helping Brenda Webb with the Forsyth County page and have been a CC since 1999. I also am the webmaster for the Historical Society of Forsyth County. On all my websites (not just genweb), I have placed over 900 html pages of material on Forsyth County History and Records including an 1907 book which I added this weekend. After the election, I probably will leave Georgia Genweb since Brenda Webb is no longer welcome here. I believe in the principle of free genealogy on the internet and I hope to stay in touch with all the "nice" people I have worked with here. I believe in truth ... honor and duty in genealogical matters. Donna Parrish http://donnaparrish.com/

    2. Jim & Gaila
    3. Hello My name is Gaila Merrington and I look after the Houston County Web page and list, with my cousin Sandra Riner. Sandra lives in Tennesee and I live in Sydney Australia, but we both grew up in Houston County <me part time>. Our ancestors settled in Houston County, as well as nearby Bibb and Crawford County in the 1820's, shortly after these counties were opened up to settlers from Indian Lands. We have (Sandra's) sister, cousins and aunts still living there today, so we still go to visit and research the area. When you can remember growing up with Georgia's red clay under your feet, picking pecans in the fall and making peach ice cream with a ice laden maker on the front porch, an emotional attachment takes place. We feel most people coming to look for Houston County ancestors are very likely to be our long lost cousins. We are always looking for information on our Georgia families, which go back to the Carolina's: Busby, Cherry,Corley, Foreman, Hatfield, Heard, Howard, Schofield, Sotroe, Winn, Watson, Wilder and the real brick wall, John Johnson born c 1800 married Lillian Busby probably born in North Carolina, but haven't yet connected him to the right Johnson family. So y'all come by and visit our web page, send in data for us to share with other cousins and kin. Gaila
