    3. Peoples, We have recently been through a very tough time in the GeorgiaGenWeb Project. We all know that an election was held. Approximately two-thirds of the 96 necessary for a quorum voted (62 out of the needed 96). Moreover, less than HALF of the members of the Project voted. Regardless of the actual outcome, the opinion expressed by 35 of the 62 voters has been heard loud and clear. We have two choices in our future. We can go forward as a Project with unity of purpose, or we can sit here and say "shoulda, coulda, woulda", which is to say that we can sit here and argue that Tim really did not prevail, but, because there was not a quorum, the results were kicked out. There is no way to know how those other 66 voters would have voted, and any attempts to discern that or crunch the numbers would be purely speculative and would be an exercise in futility. My recommendation is that we go forward together as a project, and that we find common ground to go forward on. The issues presented in the Petitions are now behind us. They are resolved. You may not be satisfied with their final result, but they are, nonetheless, resolved and in the past. We have a Guidelines Revision Committee that is starting to work on the CC's Bill of Rights and making the current Guidelines comply with the National Guidelines. These are important tasks that we want to complete prior to the upcoming NC and AB elections so that we can have something before the Membership and effective as soon as possible and have something in the form of the protections that we all need and deserve without any undue delay. If you are not able to let go of the past, or if you are of the opinion that the issues were not resolved and are unwilling to let go of them, then perhaps it is time for you to resign from the project. I hate to sound harsh and mean, but, at this point, we need people who are willing to let the wounds heal and move forward, not people who are going to continue to pick at the scab until it continues to bleed again. I hope everyone chooses to stay. Richard
