When some of the people call, they will say that there are no legible markers or they don't remember exactly how to get to the graveyard because they went as kids. Ask what they know about it. Occasionally this will lead to shared Bible records or Great Aunt Sally's family history work from 30 years ago or an old book that a relative printed for the family. I got my first look at an original Emmett Starr book that way, plus a story to go with it about how the woman's father helped with the book and Mr. Starr sent him a copy. I was also shown a pair of pewter candlesticks that were wrapped in a civil war era newspaper that were in the wall of an old outbuilding they had torn down. The family reckoned that they were hidden from the Yankees. Enjoy every minute of it. Donna
